Audiences in Kilkenny will have the chance, on 14th February to enjoy the most amazing theatrical experience – a play that they can play! The brand new musical, ‘I Spy With My Little Eye’ takes fun filled interaction to the next level as you and your kids help a little girl and her adorable dog find a chest of missing treasure by solving clues, singing songs and discovering objects in the greatest game of I Spy ever made.
This extraordinary treasure hunt is nothing like the game you might remember from long car drives though. Instead it’s a magical adventure full of games, giggles and all your favourite sing along song including Head, Shoulders Knees and Toes, Sing a Rainbow, The Ants Go Marching and BINGO.
After sell out shows at The Lyric Hammersmith, Courtyard Hereford and Core Solihull, the cast of the wonderful “People’s Theatre Company” are bringing I Spy With My Little Eye to the Watergate Theatre on 14 February.
It is based on the latest book by Steven Lee (How The Koala Learnt To Hug, Don’t Dribble On The Dragon) and stars the multi-talented actor, author and artistic director of The People’s Theatre Company as Bingo the dog, a role for which he’s spent weeks with his family dog studying how it can be so entirely lovable.
Steven is the highly acclaimed writer and producer of a string of other five star children’s shows including ‘There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Fly’, ‘Santa In Love’ and the long running family pop musical ‘The Witch’s Bogey’. Several of his books have been adapted for the stage including the best-selling ‘Don’t Dribble On The Dragon’ which had magic designed by the late, great Paul Daniels.
At the end of each show, there will be a sweet treat for the children and Steven and the cast will be available to sign copies of I Spy With My Little Eye, the heartwaring picture book with illustrations by Louise Hodkiss.
‘I Spy With My Little Eye’ is perfect for adults and kids of all ages. Run time is roughly 60 minutes.
