What do Asylum Productions do?
We usually make unusual theatre in unusual spaces, with unusual people, usually outside of a theatre, often in rural Ireland, usually with people that don’t usually work in theatre. Or go to theatre. Or think much about theatre in any way except when we come along.
We strive to create extraordinary acts of theatre and community, empowering others to join us in making great art.

THE ESSENCE OF PLACE BY VICKI O' DONOGHUE
This current series of work is inspired by Vicki's fascination with standing stones, and stone circles. The myths that surround them, what they symbolise, and what they can tell us about our ancestors. They appear other worldly, somewhat mysterious and yet we coexist with these ancient monuments, as have generations before, they are part of our DNA.
